ABOUT EMISSARIES OF THE GOSPEL

I am Jeremy Brown, founder and evangelist of Emissaries of the Gospel. And I was saved by the LORD in 2006. Without recognizing the LORD's work at the time, while a child God had always impressed upon my heart that I wasn't right with Him. I knew that I deserved Hell, even though I couldn't tell you at the time anything about Jesus, the gospel, sin, hell, church or the Bible.

You see, my family was not a churchgoing Christian family. Whatever everyone's individual beliefs had been, my family was functionally atheist. We did not own a Bible and never went to church, not even on Christmas or Easter.

Ultimately, even though God was in my consciousness, it was only after tremendous hardship and loss that I finally humbled myself and was willing to acknowledge God. I realized after the deaths of my aunt, grandparents, stepfather, and younger stepbrother that just because I was young did not mean that I was guaranteed another day. Over the course of a month or two of reading the Bible and attending a local church I came to the conclusion that I believed every single word in the Bible, the authority of the Bible, that Jesus was God who came in the flesh and died on the cross for my sins, and that Jesus raised Himself from the dead on the third day and ascended into heaven.

After this I was baptized and began to grow in the faith. Over the first six years or so of my salvation God developed me into a teacher, a deacon, and a part-time preacher. But it took me seven or eight years to finally realize that God commands us all to carry out the Great Commission and that it wasn't something that we should see as optional. And further, I began to understand that God may have indeed gifted me particularly in this area.

By the grace of God, I have been blessed to be directly and intimately involved in three separate church plants. And since then the Lord had me serve as the pastoral assistant in one church, to start a podcast, write a couple of books, start training in my church on evangelism, and He has also blessed me with the opportunity to share the gospel in a variety of methods and contexts.

Our chief context is the proclamation of the gospel outside of the local abortion clinic in Grand Rapids (Planned Parenthood). We also street evangelize in the parks, on the local college campuses, and in the business district in communities in western Michigan - particularly Holland and Grand Rapids. Annually we have the opportunity to preach at the TulipTime Festival, ArtPrize, and various PrideFest events in nearby communities.

Emissaries of the Gospel is proud to partner with ministries such as Frontline Street Evangelists (Chaplain Stephen Nylen) and OneLifeForLife - Grand Rapids (Jordan Sweezer and Jeff Sosnowski).

We are always actively looking for ministry opportunities and churches to present and explain our ministry to. We also welcome your congregational prayers as we can do nothing apart from the power and will of Almighty God!
